The House of Dior has been an enduring icon of Haute Couture. When the talented Marc Bohan took over as head designer in 1960, he continued the Dior tradition of elegant design. This beautiful full-length cloak cape, dating back to 1966, was featured in L'Officiel and comes straight from the glamorous wardrobe of Zsa Zsa Gabor. This cape dates back to the height chic mod culture and was custom made for Zsa Zsa herself. The fabric used for this garment is breathtaking; mid-weight shamrock green textured virgin-wool. The cape has a small collar and button-down front. I love the maxi length full-swing silhouette which will totally stop people in their tracks! As Dior said, "I will only say now that elegance must be the right combination of distinction, naturalness, care and simplicity." This timeless cape is a wonderful mix of these elements. This vintage 1966 Christian Dior haute couture numbered coat cape is in excellent condition with no rips, stains or discoloration. Perfectly working original black buttons. The garment is from Zsa Zsa Gabor's estate and comes with full documentation upon request. Only sign of age is thinning to a few small areas of the wool. Please message for detailed pictures. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
